وقّعت الشركة السعودية لشراء الطاقة (المشتري الرئيس) بحضور وزير الطاقة رئيس مجلس مديري الشركة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، اتفاقيات شراء الطاقة لسبعة مشروعات جديدة لإنتاج الكهرباء من الطاقة الشمسية وطاقة الرياح، تبلغ سعتها الإجمالية 15000 ميجاواط، باستثماراتٍ تبلغ 31 مليار ريال (8.3 مليار دولار)، وذلك ضمن مشروعات البرنامج الوطني للطاقة المتجددة، الذي تُشرف على تنفيذه وزارة الطاقة.
ووقّع الاتفاقيات، مع (المشتري الرئيس)، تحالف تقوده شركة أكوا باور، بوصفها المطوّر الرئيس، وبمساهمةٍ من شركة المياه والكهرباء القابضة (بديل)، المملوكة لصندوق الاستثمارات العامة، وشركة أرامكو للطاقة، المملوكة لشركة أرامكو السعودية.
وتضم مشروعات الطاقة الشمسية الكهروضوئية مشروع بيشة في منطقة عسير بسعة 3000 ميجاواط، ومشروع الهميج بمنطقة المدينة المنورة، بسعة 3000 ميجاواط، ومشروع خليص بمنطقة مكة المكرمة بسعة 2000 ميجاواط، ومشروع عفيف 1 بمنطقة الرياض بسعة 2000 ميجاواط، ومشروع عفيف 2 بمنطقة الرياض بسعة 2000 ميجاواط.
أما مشروعات طاقة الرياح فتضم مشروعي ستارة وشقراء بمنطقة الرياض، ويُعَدّ توقيع اتفاقيات بهذا الحجم دفعةً واحدة، لمشروعاتٍ هي من بين الأكبر عالمياً، تأكيداً للمكانة الريادية التي تحتلها المملكة في تطوير البنية التحتية للطاقة المتجددة.

The Saudi Power Purchase Company (the main buyer), in the presence of the Minister of Energy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, signed power purchase agreements for seven new projects to generate electricity from solar and wind energy, with a total capacity of 15,000 megawatts, and investments amounting to 31 billion riyals (8.3 billion dollars). This is part of the National Renewable Energy Program, which is overseen by the Ministry of Energy.
The agreements were signed with the main buyer by a consortium led by ACWA Power, as the main developer, with contributions from the Water and Electricity Holding Company (Badeel), owned by the Public Investment Fund, and Saudi Aramco Power, owned by Saudi Aramco.
The solar photovoltaic projects include the Bisha project in the Asir region with a capacity of 3,000 megawatts, the Al-Humayq project in the Medina region with a capacity of 3,000 megawatts, the Khulais project in the Makkah region with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts, the Afif 1 project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts, and the Afif 2 project in the Riyadh region with a capacity of 2,000 megawatts.
As for the wind energy projects, they include the Sutrah and Shuqaiq projects in the Riyadh region. Signing agreements of this magnitude all at once for projects that are among the largest globally confirms the leading position that the Kingdom occupies in developing the infrastructure for renewable energy.
