وقعت الهيئة العامة للمنافسة مذكرة تفاهم مع وزارة التجارة والصناعة وترويج الاستثمار لسلطنة عُمان، وذلك في مجال حماية المنافسة ومنع الممارسات الاحتكارية.
ووقّع الاتفاقية عن الهيئة العامة للمنافسة رئيسها الدكتور فهد بن إبراهيم الشثري، وعن وزارة التجارة والصناعة وترويج الاستثمار مدير عام مركز حماية المنافسة ومنع الاحتكار أحمد بن سالم الراسبي، وذلك بمقر الهيئة في الرياض.
جاء توقيع هذه المذكرة استجابة لرغبة الطرفين في إنشاء إطار متكامل للتعاون في مجال حماية المنافسة ومنع الممارسات الاحتكارية، بما يتماشى مع القوانين والأنظمة المعمول بها في كلا البلدين.
وتتضمن المذكرة عدة مجالات رئيسية للتعاون تركز على تبادل المعلومات والخبراء في مجال تعزيز المنافسة، وتمكين أداء وظائف كلا الطرفين بشكل أكثر فعالية، ويشمل هذا التعاون بشكل خاص تبادل الخبرات حول دور التوجيه التنافسي وآليات وضع السياسات التي من شأنها تعزيز المنافسة العادلة في أسواق البلدين.
وتشمل مجالات التعاون المتفق عليها أيضا تبادل الدراسات والإصدارات اللازمة لتحليل أساليب التعامل المختلفة في الأسواق، وذلك بهدف الكشف عن الممارسات الاحتكارية والحالات المضرة بالمنافسة العادلة، وسيساعد التبادل المعرفي لكلا الطرفين على تطوير أدوات تحليلية أكثر دقة وفعالية في رصد ومعالجة التشوهات السوقية.
وتأتي هذه الاتفاقية في إطار جهود الهيئة العامة للمنافسة لتعزيز التعاون الإقليمي والدولي لتحقيق المزيد من التكامل بين الأسواق، وتشجيع المنافسة العادلة التي تعد ركيزة أساسية للتنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية، وبناء اقتصادات قوية ومستدامة.
The Public Authority for Competition signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion of the Sultanate of Oman, in the field of competition protection and preventing monopolistic practices.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the Public Authority for Competition by its President, Dr. Fahd bin Ibrahim Al-Shathri, and on behalf of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion by the General Director of the Competition Protection and Anti-Monopoly Center, Ahmed bin Salem Al-Rasbi, at the Authority's headquarters in Riyadh.
The signing of this memorandum came in response to the desire of both parties to establish a comprehensive framework for cooperation in the field of competition protection and preventing monopolistic practices, in line with the laws and regulations in force in both countries.
The memorandum includes several key areas of cooperation focusing on the exchange of information and experts in the field of enhancing competition, enabling both parties to perform their functions more effectively. This cooperation specifically includes the exchange of experiences regarding the role of competitive guidance and the mechanisms for policy formulation that would promote fair competition in the markets of both countries.
The agreed areas of cooperation also include the exchange of studies and publications necessary for analyzing various market practices, with the aim of uncovering monopolistic practices and cases harmful to fair competition. The knowledge exchange between both parties will help develop more accurate and effective analytical tools for monitoring and addressing market distortions.
This agreement is part of the efforts of the Public Authority for Competition to enhance regional and international cooperation to achieve greater integration between markets and encourage fair competition, which is a fundamental pillar for economic and social development, and building strong and sustainable economies.
