يستعد النجم العالمي جوني ديب للعودة إلى السينما بعد غيابه الطويل عن إنتاجات هوليوود الكبرى من خلال فيلم جديد يحمل عنوان Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol، وهو معالجة حديثة لرواية الكاتب الإنجليزي الكلاسيكي تشارلز ديكنز الشهيرة "ترنيمة عيد الميلاد".
الفيلم من إنتاج شركة باراماونت بيكتشرز، وإخراج تي ويست المعروف بأفلام الرعب الناجحة X، Pearl، MaXXXine، ومن كتابة ناثانييل هالبيرن، ومن المقرر طرحه في 13 نوفمبر 2026، ضمن عروض موسم الأعياد المقبل، ليشكل عودة قوية للنجم الأمريكي.
وتصف التقارير الفيلم بأنه "قصة أشباح مثيرة تدور في لندن ديكنز، تتبع رحلة رجل يواجه ماضيه وحاضره ومستقبله في محاولة لنيل فرصة جديدة في الحياة". ويشارك ديب في البطولة الممثلة البريطانية أندريا ريزبورو، المرشحة لجائزة الأوسكار عن دورها في فيلم To Leslie.
ويمثل هذا المشروع أول ظهور رئيسي لجوني ديب في إنتاج ضخم لهوليوود منذ عام 2019، بعد فترة من التراجع عن الأضواء أعقبت قضيته الشهيرة مع طليقته آمبر هيرد عام 2022، التي انتهت بتسوية مالية تبرع بها لاحقاً لصالح عدد من الجمعيات الخيرية.
قبل عرض Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol، ينتظر الجمهور مشاهدة ديب في عدد من الأعمال الجديدة، منها الفيلم الفرنسي Jeanne du Barry الذي مثّل عودته إلى الأضواء، إلى جانب فيلم الإثارة Day Drinker الذي يجمعه بالنجمة بينيلوبي كروز، إضافة إلى فيلمه الذي أخرجه بنفسه Modi: Three Days on the Wing of Madness، والمقرر عرضه في دور السينما الأمريكية في 7 نوفمبر القادم.
Global star Johnny Depp is preparing to return to cinema after a long absence from major Hollywood productions with a new film titled Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol, which is a modern adaptation of the classic English writer Charles Dickens' famous novella "A Christmas Carol."
The film is produced by Paramount Pictures, directed by Ti West, known for his successful horror films X, Pearl, MaXXXine, and written by Nathaniel Halpern. It is scheduled to be released on November 13, 2026, as part of the upcoming holiday season, marking a strong comeback for the American star.
Reports describe the film as "an exciting ghost story set in Dickens' London, following the journey of a man confronting his past, present, and future in an attempt to earn a second chance at life." Depp stars alongside British actress Andrea Riseborough, who was nominated for an Oscar for her role in the film To Leslie.
This project represents Johnny Depp's first major appearance in a big Hollywood production since 2019, following a period of stepping back from the spotlight after his high-profile case with ex-wife Amber Heard in 2022, which ended in a financial settlement that he later donated to several charities.
