أصدر الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي قراراً بتعيين الفنان ياسر جلال عضواً في مجلس الشيوخ، ضمن قائمة الــ100 شخص الذين قام بتعيينهم من فئات مختلفة.
وأعرب جلال عبر حسابه على إنستغرام عن شكره للرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، وقال: «الحمد لله، يشرفني انضمامي لعضوية مجلس الشيوخ المصري. بكل الحب والاحترام أشكر الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي على دعمه الدائم للفن والثقافة والمبدعين في بلدنا. وأشكر حزب حماة الوطن على الترشيح، وإن شاء الله أكون عند حسن الظن، وربنا يقدرنى إنى أكون واجهة مشرفة لزملائي الفنانين داخل المجلس».
وأضاف: «وجود فنانين داخل مجلس الشيوخ شرف كبير وفرصة إن الفنان يكون له وجود وصوت مسموع في مجلس محترم زي ده، ويكون الفنان جزء من النقاش الوطني، مش مجرد متفرج من بعيد. الفن جزء من هوية البلد، وصوته لازم يكون موجود في كل مساحة بتتكلم عن مستقبلها. وأدعو الله سبحانه وتعالى أن أكون إضافة حقيقية، وأن أنجح فى تمثيل الفنانين والمبدعين بالشكل اللي يليق بمكانتهم وبقيمة الفن المصري».
وهذه ليست المرة الأولى لأهل الفن تحت قبة البرلمان، ففي المجلس السابق تم تعيين يحيى الفخراني، وسميرة سعيد، كما سبق وشارك في الحياة السياسية ممثلاً عن الفن عدد كبير من الفنانين، ومن بينهم: محمد عبد الوهاب، محمود المليجي، أمينة رزق، مديحة يسري، وغيرهم.
The Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decision to appoint the artist Yasser Jalal as a member of the Senate, as part of the list of 100 individuals he appointed from various categories.
Jalal expressed his gratitude to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi through his Instagram account, saying: "Thank God, I am honored to join the membership of the Egyptian Senate. With all love and respect, I thank President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his constant support for art, culture, and creators in our country. I also thank the Homeland Defenders Party for the nomination, and God willing, I will live up to expectations, and may God enable me to be an honorable representative for my fellow artists within the council."
He added: "The presence of artists in the Senate is a great honor and an opportunity for artists to have a presence and a voice in such a respected council, and for the artist to be part of the national discussion, not just a spectator from afar. Art is part of the identity of the country, and its voice must be present in every space that talks about its future. I pray to God Almighty that I will be a true addition, and that I will succeed in representing artists and creators in a manner that befits their status and the value of Egyptian art."
This is not the first time for artists under the dome of parliament, as in the previous council, Yahya El-Fakharany and Samira Said were appointed, and many artists have previously participated in political life representing art, including: Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Mahmoud El-Meligy, Amina Rizk, Madihah Yousri, and others.
