أعلن مهرجان الجونة السينمائي إطلاق الدورة الثانية من مسابقة «عيش» للأفلام القصيرة، التي تُنظّم بالشراكة مع برنامج الأغذية العالمي و«زست»، داعياً صُنّاع الأفلام من مصر والعالم العربي لتقديم مشاريعهم من الأفلام القصيرة بحد أقصى 15 دقيقة قيد التطوير، التي تتناول قضية الأمن الغذائي في المنطقة.
وتستمر فترة التقديم حتى 30 أغسطس على أن يتم الإعلان عن المشروع الفائز خلال الدورة الثامنة من المهرجان، المقرر إقامتها في الفترة من 16 إلى 24 أكتوبر المقبل.
تأتي هذه الدورة استكمالًا للنجاح الذي شهدته النسخة الأولى من المسابقة عام 2024، التي لاقت تفاعلًا واسعًا ومشاركة كبيرة في فترة زمنية قصيرة، مما يعكس اهتمامًا متزايدًا من المبدعين الشباب بقضايا مجتمعية ملحة، ورغبة في توظيف السينما كأداة للتأثير والتغيير.
وتهدف المسابقة إلى تقديم منصة لصُنّاع السينما العرب لتسليط الضوء على قضايا إنسانية معاصرة، على رأسها هذا العام «الأمن الغذائي»، من منطلق إيمان الجهات الثلاث بقدرة السينما على تشكيل وعي الجمهور وتحفيز المجتمعات نحو التغيير.
وأعرب المدير التنفيذي المؤسس الشريك لمهرجان الجونة السينمائي عمرو منسي عن سعادته باستمرار التعاون قائلًا: «فخورون بإطلاق الدورة الثانية من مسابقة عيش، التي تمثل دعوة مفتوحة للفن ليكون صوتًا للتغيير، والسينما تتيح للمبدعين رواية قصص نابعة من واقعهم، ونحن نؤمن أن الأمن الغذائي قضية تمس حياة الناس بشكل مباشر، ويجب أن تجد لها مكانًا على الشاشة».
The El Gouna Film Festival announced the launch of the second edition of the "Aish" short film competition, organized in partnership with the World Food Programme and "Zest," inviting filmmakers from Egypt and the Arab world to submit their short film projects, with a maximum duration of 15 minutes, that address the issue of food security in the region.
The submission period will continue until August 30, with the winning project to be announced during the eighth edition of the festival, scheduled to take place from October 16 to 24.
This edition comes as a continuation of the success witnessed by the first edition of the competition in 2024, which saw wide engagement and significant participation in a short period, reflecting a growing interest among young creators in pressing social issues and a desire to use cinema as a tool for impact and change.
The competition aims to provide a platform for Arab filmmakers to highlight contemporary humanitarian issues, with this year's focus on "food security," based on the belief of the three parties in cinema's ability to shape public awareness and motivate communities towards change.
Amr Mansi, the founding executive director of the El Gouna Film Festival, expressed his happiness with the continued collaboration, stating: "We are proud to launch the second edition of the Aish competition, which represents an open invitation for art to be a voice for change, and cinema allows creators to tell stories that stem from their reality. We believe that food security is an issue that directly affects people's lives and should find its place on screen."
