توفي الفنان القطري محمد البلم، بعد أسبوع من تعرضه لحادثة مرورية عقب خروجه من المسجد بعد صلاة العشاء.
ونُقل البلم إلى المستشفى لتلقي العلاج اللازم، وظل بغرفة العناية المركزة حتى وافته المنية.
ولد البلم عام 1956، ويعد من رموز المسرح القطري، وتنظر إليه أجيال متعاقبة باعتباره «الأب الروحي»، من جهة دوره التأسيسي لهذا الفن في البلاد وإرسائه دعائم البنية التحتية والمفاهيم النظرية والعملية له.
وكان أحد أبرز المؤسسين لفرقة «السد» المسرحية 1973، كما تقلد مناصب قيادية بوزارة التربية والتعليم، وأخذ على عاتقه دمج الفن عموماً، والمسرح خصوصاً، ضمن النشاط التعليمي وتربية النشء على حب «أبي الفنون».
وترأس قسم «توجيه المسرح» بالوزارة، وكذلك «المركز الشبابي» للفنون المسرحية، وأدار مهرجانات مسرحية مخصصة للشباب، وتحول في سنوات قليلة إلى المختص الأول بغرس قيم الفن الرفيعة في نفوس الأجيال الجديدة.
وحصل على بكالوريوس «التمثيل والإخراج» من المعهد العالي للفنون المسرحية بالكويت عام 1985، وتولى رئاسة فرقة «السد» في أكثر من دورة، كما مثّل قطر في العديد من المهرجانات الخارجية.
وشارك ممثلاً في أعمال مهمة في تاريخ المسرح القطري منها «بيت الأشباح»، و«خلود»، «الحضيض»، و«نجوم على الرصيف»، كما أخرج مسرحيات عدة مثل «مجلس العدل»، و«عيال السيارة العجيبة»، و«الجرة الذهبية»، و«سقراط يبيع التحف».
وفي مجال المسلسلات الدرامية والأفلام، شارك في أعمال عدة منها «مساكم الله بالخير»، و«يوميات عائلة»، و«مطلوبون للعدالة»، و«الشراع الحزين»، و«حارس الفنار».
The Qatari artist Mohammed Al-Balam passed away after a week of being involved in a traffic accident shortly after leaving the mosque following the evening prayer.
Al-Balam was transferred to the hospital for necessary treatment and remained in the intensive care unit until his passing.
Born in 1956, Al-Balam is considered one of the symbols of Qatari theater, viewed by successive generations as the "spiritual father" due to his foundational role in this art form in the country and his establishment of the infrastructure and theoretical and practical concepts for it.
He was one of the prominent founders of the "Al-Sadd" theater troupe in 1973, and held leadership positions at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, taking it upon himself to integrate art in general, and theater in particular, into educational activities and to instill a love for "the father of arts" in the youth.
He headed the "Theater Guidance" department at the ministry, as well as the "Youth Center" for performing arts, and managed theater festivals dedicated to youth, becoming, in just a few years, the foremost specialist in instilling high artistic values in the souls of new generations.
He obtained a Bachelor's degree in "Acting and Directing" from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Kuwait in 1985, and served as the head of the "Al-Sadd" troupe in several terms, representing Qatar in many international festivals.
He participated as an actor in significant works in the history of Qatari theater, including "House of Ghosts," "Eternal," "The Abyss," and "Stars on the Sidewalk," and directed several plays such as "The Council of Justice," "The Amazing Car Kids," "The Golden Jar," and "Socrates Sells Antiques."
In the field of drama series and films, he participated in several works including "Good Evening," "Family Diaries," "Wanted for Justice," "The Sad Sail," and "The Lighthouse Keeper."
