نفت نقابة الفنانين السوريين وفاة الفنان رشيد عساف، مؤكدة بأنه بصحة جيدة.
وأضافت في بيان أصدرته: «نرجو من المواقع الفنية والصفحات التثبت قبل النشر؛ وأي خبر لم يصدر عن النقابة فهو منفٍ حكماً».
من جانبه، قال رشيد عساف: «لم أكن على علم بما تداولته بعض مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي عن أخبار وفاتي لوجودي على متن طائرة قادمة من الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية إلى دبي»، مشيراً إلى أن توقيت الشائعة تزامن مع التفجير الإرهابي في كنيسة مار إلياس بدمشق، ما دفع البعض للربط بين الحدثين، خصوصاً أن بعض الضحايا ينتمون إلى قريته.
وشارك رشيد عساف في موسم رمضان 2024 بشخصية «العميد كنعان الصايغ»، ضمن مسلسل كسر عظم 2 – السراديب، مجسداً ضابطاً أمنياً يعود للخدمة في مرحلة حساسة ليقود تحقيقات معقدة تتعلق بقضايا فساد، مقدماً أداءً نال استحسان الجمهور والنقاد على حد سواء.
يبلغ رشيد عساف من العمر 67 عاماً، وبدأ نشاطه الفني في أواخر السبعينيات. تميز بتقديم أدوار متعددة عبر الدراما السينمائية والمسرحية والتلفزيونية، كما عرف بتنوعه بين الشخصيات التاريخية والاجتماعية والبدوية، ما أكسبه جماهيرية واسعة داخل سورية وخارجها.
The Syrian Artists Syndicate denied the death of artist Rashid Assaf, confirming that he is in good health.
It added in a statement: "We urge artistic websites and pages to verify before publishing; any news not issued by the syndicate is automatically denied."
For his part, Rashid Assaf said: "I was not aware of what some social media sites were circulating about news of my death as I was on a flight coming from the United States to Dubai," pointing out that the timing of the rumor coincided with the terrorist bombing at St. Elias Church in Damascus, which led some to link the two events, especially since some of the victims belong to his village.
Rashid Assaf participated in the Ramadan 2024 season as "Brigadier Kanaan Al-Saigh," in the series "Kasar A'azm 2 – Al-Saradeeb," portraying a security officer returning to service during a sensitive phase to lead complex investigations related to corruption cases, delivering a performance that was well-received by both the audience and critics alike.
Rashid Assaf is 67 years old and began his artistic activity in the late 1970s. He is known for presenting various roles across cinema, theater, and television drama, and he is recognized for his diversity between historical, social, and Bedouin characters, which has earned him wide popularity both inside and outside Syria.
