Cairo — Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, on Monday evening visited the Egypt Opera House where he was received by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

They watched a special presentation of a play that was selected as the best theater show in 2017.

The Crown Prince also met a number of journalists and editors of the Egyptian media.

During the meeting, he affirmed the strong relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

“Egypt-Saudi relations are strong and solid, and any attempt to sabotage it will never succeed...When Egypt thrives, the whole region can rise,” the Crown Prince said.

He added: “Egypt is now in the best position economically, and what’s coming ahead is even better.”

Addressing a question on Qatar crisis, Crown Prince Muhammad said: “I do not occupy myself with the issue of Qatar. The only way to resolve the crisis is to manage it the way the US handled the clash with Cuba in 1959.”

When asked about the ongoing reforms in Saudi Arabia, the Crown Prince said:

“The social reforms in Saudi Arabia are compatible with true Islam ... Islam is a tolerant religion that allows us to open wide dialogues with all ideologies and schools of thought in Saudi Arabia.

“Everything we do in Saudi Arabia is reflected on the economic progress, and on citizens, especially the Saudi youth.”

About the ongoing war in Yemen, the Crown Prince said: “The war in Yemen is close to achieving its goals to restore legitimacy in the face of the Houthi militia and their end is imminent.”
