Israel continues to violate the ceasefire on a daily basis. Despite the American announcement of the resumption of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the occupation army launched intense airstrikes east of Khan Younis in the south.

Israeli warplanes carried out around six airstrikes today (Thursday) on various areas in the eastern part of the city, with the nature of the targeted sites remaining unknown, as the army imposed a strict military cordon and classified the area as a "red zone" that is off-limits.

Bombing of Homes and Tents

The bombing coincided with the Israeli army firing towards the homes of Palestinians and the tents of displaced persons in the Ma'an neighborhood east of Khan Younis, and in the eastern areas of Deir al-Balah city and the al-Bureij camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Last night, the Israeli army targeted a group of Palestinians as they attempted to return to their homes in the al-Attatra area northwest of Beit Lahiya, resulting in the deaths of two Palestinians from the al-Attar family.

The occupation army announced that it targeted a Hamas cell that was planning to carry out an attack against its forces, a claim denied by the al-Attar family, which confirmed that their sons were on their way back home.

This escalation by the occupation comes despite the announcement of the resumption of the ceasefire, following violations that occurred two days ago, during which more than 100 Palestinians were killed. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, described the number of victims in a statement as "horrific."

The UN official emphasized that Israel must fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law and will bear responsibility for any violations. He called on all parties to act in good faith and adhere to the ceasefire agreement.

Meanwhile, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom, renewed his demand for the evacuation of about 15,000 Palestinians, including four thousand children, from the Gaza Strip for health reasons. He noted in his speech at the 75th session of the WHO Regional Office for Europe that around 700 patients died due to not receiving treatment outside the Strip.

New Settlements in the West Bank

In the West Bank, violent clashes erupted during an Israeli incursion early today (Saturday) into the Rafidia neighborhood west of Nablus from two axes, with the forces setting up flying checkpoints and searching vehicles east of the city.

The incursions came after settlers cut down hundreds of olive trees in the village of Qaryut south of Nablus, according to the Palestinian news agency.

The occupation authority approved the construction of 1,300 new settlement units south of Jerusalem, as reported by Israeli Channel 14.

The Palestinian Applied Research Institute observed that the Israeli government is conducting a comprehensive survey of the lands in Area C of the West Bank in preparation for seizing them.

The implementation of the comprehensive survey of Area C lands in the West Bank aims to shift the burden of proving ownership onto the Palestinians, facilitating the classification of large areas as "state land" in preparation for their seizure.

The institute warned that transferring the project to the Israeli Ministry of Justice reflects a tendency to impose actual sovereignty over the occupied territories and accelerate settlement expansion through the legalization and connection of more than 80 settlement outposts to the infrastructure.
