Jeddah - The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah on Tuesday afternoon.



At the outset of the session, the King praised Allah Almighty for enabling pilgrims to perform Hajj rituals easily, comfortably, and safely in an atmosphere full of serenity and faith, praying to Allah Almighty to accept their Hajj.

Thanking Him for services being provided by the Kingdom for pilgrims, thanking and appreciating princes, ministers, the Chairman and members of Supreme Hajj Committee, Governors of Regions and all officials and personnel of civil, military and national sectors who participated in the service of pilgrims for their successful efforts in the service of pilgrims which have contributed to the success of the Hajj season, free of diseases and epidemics, and the provision of all services, facilities and care that have enabled pilgrims to perform the fifth pillar of Islam comfortably and easily.



The King briefed the Cabinet on the results of his meetings with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of the Arab Republic of Egypt, and President Alassane Ouattara of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire.



The Minister of Media Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency that the Cabinet reviewed a number of reports on events and latest developments at the international arena.

Appreciating the Kingdom's contribution of $ 100 million to the Global Coalition Against Daesh in areas liberated from the terrorist organization, north-east of Syria, stressing that this contribution aims to support the coalition efforts to revitalize local societies, focus on projects to restore livelihoods and basic services, save lives, facilitate the return of displaced Syrians and ensure that Daesh and other terrorist organizations shall not return to threaten Syria or its neighbors.

The Cabinet was briefed on the statement issued by the Coalition for Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen and its clarification on the report of the High Commissioner for Human Rights issued on 28 August 2018 on the situation of human rights in Yemen, and the Cabinet commended the statement's refutation and disagreement of most of the conclusions, allegations, fallacies and impartiality.



The Cabinet expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's strong condemnation and denunciation of the terrorist attacks that took place in a number of sisterly and friendly countries during the past few days, confirming the Kingdom's solidarity and support for the measures taken by them to combat acts of violence, terrorism and extremism targeting security and stability around the world and offered its condolences and sympathies to their governments and peoples as well as to the families of the victims and wished the injured a speedy recovery.



The Minister said that the Cabinet hailed the quarterly report on the performance of the State budget for the 2nd quarter of fiscal year 1439/1440 H (2018) issued by the Ministry of Finance, which reflected an improvement in the performance of public finance and a continuation of efforts being exerted to implement reform and economic plans aimed at economic diversification and achieving financial sustainability, included indicators and data reflecting the government's commitment to transparency and financial disclosure, strengthening fiscal governance and public finance's control and moving forward towards the achievement of the fiscal balance program's goals.



The Cabinet also expressed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's appreciation of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for its welcoming of the Kingdom's efforts in promoting medium-term public finance framework initiatives, developing financial and economic risk management, increasing public finance transparency, developing public and aggregate finance analysis and encouraging it for further development of such initiatives.
