The Professional Literature Association, in collaboration with the Municipality of Al-Namas Governorate, held a poetry evening in celebration of World Poetry Day, hosted by the Literary Ambassadors in Al-Namas, featuring poets Ahmed Mu'id Al-Shahri and Muhammad Faiz Al-Qarni, and was moderated by Dr. Abdullah Hassan Al-Shahri.
Al-Shahri opened the evening with welcoming verses in which he said:
The land of Al-Namas resonates with recitation
And my longing drives me towards the club
Branches that everyone knows by nature
Your meeting is the third of the holidays
Meanwhile, Al-Qarni (Abu Al-Wad) recited a poem in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), from which he said:
And in me is the light of the best of creation's love
I hoped for it to be a door to paradise
O Prophet of God, O tree of wishes
And the solace of a worshiper seeking reward
The poems varied between national and emotional themes, with one of the highlights being the poem "Mother" by Al-Shahri:
I lost much creation with her loss
So I do not narrow with the warm tears
To the heavens, O dearest beloved
For in paradise is the comfort of every eye
The evening concluded with honoring the participants, where the head of the Literary Ambassadors in Al-Namas, Dhafir Al-Jubairi, expressed his gratitude to the attendees and supporters, foremost among them the Municipality of Al-Namas, and took commemorative photos.
