حسم الفنان التشكيلي أحمد شيحة، والد الفنانة حلا شيحة، الجدل حول اعتزالها الفن وسبب ابتعادها وسفرها إلى كندا، وذلك بعد ارتدائها خلال الفترة الأخيرة الحجاب.
وأكد شيحة، خلال لقائه في برنامج «كلام الناس»، أن ابنته لم تعلن اعتزالها الفن إطلاقاً، مشيراً إلى أنها فنانة حتى النخاع ولم تصدر منها أي تصريحات ضد الفن، مشيراً إلى أن كثيراً مما يُنسب إليها من تصريحات عارٍ تماماً من الصحة ولا يعكس حقيقة آرائها.
وعن سبب تواجدها في كندا، أوضح أن حلا انتقلت إلى هناك لتكون بجوار أبنائها حتى يكملوا دراستهم، مؤكداً أن أمومتها وانتماءها لأسرتها كانا الدافع الأساسي وراء قرارها.

كما تحدث شيحة أيضاً عن ابنته الفنانة المصرية هنا شيحة، قائلاً: «هنا لما كنت أروح مشوار أو أغيب عن البيت فترة، كانت تمسك المصروف وتنظم الحياة، وتيجي تحاسبني.. عندها قدرة إدارة كبيرة».
وسبق أن نفت حلا شيحة صحة التصريحات المنسوبة إليها، التي تزعم أنها وصفت زواجها السابق من معز مسعود بأنه أصعب فترة في حياتها، مؤكدة أن ما نُشر عارٍ تماماً من الصحة، وطالبت، عبر منشور على حسابها بـ«إنستغرام»، بضرورة تحري الدقة في نقل الأخبار وعدم نسب أقوال لم تصدر عنها.

Sheha confirmed during his appearance on the program "Kalam Al-Nas" that his daughter has never announced her retirement from art, pointing out that she is an artist to the core and has not made any statements against art. He noted that much of what is attributed to her in terms of statements is completely untrue and does not reflect her actual views.
Regarding the reason for her presence in Canada, he explained that Hala moved there to be close to her children until they complete their studies, emphasizing that her motherhood and belonging to her family were the main motivations behind her decision.
The stance of his daughter Hena Sheha
Sheha also spoke about his daughter, the Egyptian artist Hena Sheha, saying: "Whenever I would go out or be away from home for a while, she would take care of the household expenses and organize life, and then come to hold me accountable... she has great management skills."
Hala Sheha had previously denied the validity of the statements attributed to her, which claim that she described her previous marriage to Moaz Masoud as the most difficult period of her life, asserting that what was published is completely untrue. She called, through a post on her Instagram account, for the need to be accurate in reporting news and not to attribute statements to her that she did not make.
