في حدث ثقافي بارز، أطلق وزير السياحة والآثار المصري شريف فتحي، اليوم (الخميس) فعاليات وأنشطة التراث الثقافي المغمور بالمياه، التي تقام على مدار يومي 20 و21 أغسطس 2025 في عدد من المتاحف والمواقع الأثرية بمحافظة الإسكندرية.

وتضمنت الفعاليات افتتاح معرض مؤقت بعنوان «أسرار المدينة الغارقة» بمتحف الإسكندرية القومي، إلى جانب افتتاح مكتبة متخصصة تابعة للمتحف.

ويضم المعرض، الذي يستمر لمدة ستة أشهر، 86 قطعة أثرية تم اكتشافها في مدينتي كانوب وهيراكليون بخليج أبي قير شرق الإسكندرية، وتعكس هذه القطع جوانب من الحياة اليومية، المعتقدات الدينية، والطقوس الجنائزية خلال العصرين البطلمي والروماني.

كما تضم المكتبة الجديدة التابعة لمتحف الإسكندرية أكثر من 1100 كتاب في تخصصات متنوعة تشمل الآثار المصرية القديمة، اليونانية، الرومانية، القبطية، الإسلامية، والعصر الحديث، بالإضافة إلى كتب في الترميم والصيانة، وموضوعات ثقافية واجتماعية، وكتب مخصصة للأطفال، وتم تجهيزها بآليات إتاحة لغير المبصرين، مما يعزز من شموليتها.
ووجه وزير السياحة والآثار بإدراج محتويات مكتبات المتاحف على منصة EgyTap الإلكترونية التي أطلقتها الوزارة أخيرا، لضمان تقديم المعرفة بطريقة مبتكرة ودقيقة.

وأشار إلى أن المعرض يعكس التعاون المثمر بين المجلس الأعلى للآثار وأكثر من 300 بعثة أثرية أجنبية تعمل في مصر.
وأكد الوزير أن الوزارة ستعمل على دمج الإسكندرية ضمن برامج الرحلات السياحية، وربطها بالساحل الشمالي لتعزيز الحركة السياحية.

كما تحدث عن الاستعدادات لافتتاح المتحف المصري الكبير في نوفمبر 2025، بحضور رئيس الجمهورية عبدالفتاح السيسي، مشيرًا إلى أن المتحف سيصبح مركزًا عالميًا لعلم المصريات.
وأضاف أن مصر استقبلت 15.8 مليون سائح العام الماضي، وتسعى لتسويق تنوعها السياحي تحت شعار «مصر... تنوع لا يُضاهى».
In a prominent cultural event, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy launched today (Thursday) the activities and events of the submerged cultural heritage, which will take place over two days on August 20 and 21, 2025, at several museums and archaeological sites in Alexandria Governorate.

The events included the opening of a temporary exhibition titled "Secrets of the Sunken City" at the Alexandria National Museum, along with the inauguration of a specialized library affiliated with the museum.

The exhibition, which will last for six months, features 86 artifacts discovered in the cities of Canopus and Heracleion in Abu Qir Bay east of Alexandria. These pieces reflect aspects of daily life, religious beliefs, and funerary rituals during the Ptolemaic and Roman periods.

The new library associated with the Alexandria Museum contains more than 1,100 books in various fields, including ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Coptic, Islamic, and modern history, in addition to books on restoration and maintenance, cultural and social topics, and children's literature. It has been equipped with accessibility features for the visually impaired, enhancing its inclusivity.
The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities directed that the contents of the museum libraries be included on the electronic platform EgyTap, recently launched by the ministry, to ensure the delivery of knowledge in an innovative and accurate manner.

He noted that the exhibition reflects the fruitful cooperation between the Supreme Council of Antiquities and more than 300 foreign archaeological missions working in Egypt.
The minister confirmed that the ministry will work to integrate Alexandria into tourism trip programs and connect it to the North Coast to enhance tourism movement.

He also spoke about the preparations for the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum in November 2025, in the presence of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, indicating that the museum will become a global center for Egyptology.
He added that Egypt welcomed 15.8 million tourists last year and is striving to market its diverse tourism under the slogan "Egypt... Unmatched Diversity."
