أعربت الفنانة المصرية عبير صبري عن أمنية كانت تتمنى تحقيقها، وهي العمل مع المخرج الراحل يوسف شاهين، مؤكدة أنه يعد أحد أبرز المبدعين في تاريخ السينما العربية، وأن أعماله ما زالت حاضرة في خيال كل فنان حتى اليوم.

وقالت عبير صبري في تصريح خاص إلى «عكاظ»: «كنت أتمنى أن أكون من بين الفنانين الذين حالفهم الحظ بالعمل مع يوسف شاهين، لأنه من المبدعين الخالدين في مهنة الفن، وأعماله دائما غير تقليدية ومليئة بالحياة». وتمنت عبير صبري أن يظهر جيل جديد من المخرجين يحملون نفس روحه الإبداعية، رغم أن يوسف شاهين لا يمكن لأحد أن يكرره.

كما وجهت عبير صبري رسالة إلى النجمة يسرا بمناسبة احتفالها بمعرضها الفني الجديد الذي يحمل عنوان «50 سنة سينما»، والذي يوثق مسيرتها الممتدة عبر 5 عقود من الإبداع.
وأشارت عبير صبري إلى أنها تعتبر نفسها محظوظة بالعمل مع يسرا في عملين فنيين، هما مسلسل خيانة عهد وفيلم ليلة العيد، ووصفتها بأنها أيقونة فنية وإنسانية لا تتكرر، مؤكدة انبهارها بمسيرتها الطويلة المليئة بالتنوع والإبداع منذ الثمانينيات وحتى اليوم.
