The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet's session at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Tuesday afternoon.
At the outset of the session, the King briefed the Cabinet on his verbal message sent to Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait, the message received from King Mohammed VI of the Kingdom of Morocco, and his talks with President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine, Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait, and Prime Minister of Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim.
The King briefed the Cabinet on contacts made to President Donald Trump of the United States of America, President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation, the Prime Minister of Britain Theresa May, and President Emmanuel Macaron of Republic of France, appreciating their condemnation of the attempt of coup Houthi militias to target Riyadh city with a ballistic missile, their denunciation of this criminal attempt representing a blatant attack on the sovereignty of the Kingdom and targeting of a populated area, their rejection of exposing the Kingdom to any security threats, their appreciation to the Government of the Kingdom for its efforts in combating terrorism and extremism and its humanitarian and relief efforts, and the emphasis on the necessity of alerting the international community to the destructive Iranian regime's role in threatening peace and stability in the region.
The Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Awwad bin Saleh Al-Awwad said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session that the Cabinet reviewed latest developments at Arab, regional and international arenas and reiterated the Kingdom's strong condemnation and denunciation of explosions in the Afghan capital Kabul, the explosion targeted a shop in Russian city of St. Petersburg and the terrorist attack on a Church in Helwan, south of Cairo and expressed its condolences to the families of the victims and to the governments and peoples of those countries, confirming the Kingdom's stand with those countries against terrorist sinful acts.
Dr. Al-Awwad noted that the Cabinet was briefed on issues on its agenda and decided the following:
After reviewing the report submitted by the Ministry of Health and Shura Council's decision No. 178/56 dated 20/01/1439 H, the Cabinet approved the memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare of Japan for cooperation in the field of health care signed in Tokyo on 15/6/1438 H.
A royal decree has been prepared in this regard.
The Cabinet authorized the Minister of Health or his deputy to discuss with the Philippine side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Philippines for cooperation in health fields and to submit the final version for completion of regular procedures.
After reviewing a report submitted by Ministry of Transport, and Shura Council's Resolution No. 179/57 dated on 21/1/1439 H., the Cabinet approved an agreement between the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the Republic of Cameroon in the field of air transportation services signed in Riyadh city on 8/6/1438 AH.
After reviewing the minutes prepared by Political and Security Affairs Council No. 1033 dated 4/3/1439 H, the Cabinet approved the National Defense Strategy.
The Cabinet approved that the Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture shall be the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Water and Electricity Company for one term only.
After reviewing a report submitted by Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Irrigation Organization, and the recommendation prepared by the Council of Economic Affairs and Development No. (4-15/ 39 / D) dated on 2/4/1439 H, the Cabinet approved the regulation of Saudi Irrigation Organization.
The Cabinet approved the prevention regulation on acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and rights and duties of the infected .
A royal decree has been prepared in this regard .
The Cabinet was briefed on a number of general issues on its agenda, including annual reports of Institute of Public Administration and King Abdullah City for Atomic and Renewable Energy for previous fiscal years, and issued its directives towards them.
